re3grow Community Scheme

THE 2026 COMPOST COMMUNITY SCHEME IS NOW OPEN

re3Grow compost is made from recycled garden waste which originates from residents of Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham Boroughs

The compost is currently on sale to members of the public at the recycling centres in Longshot Lane, Bracknell and Smallmead, Reading but as part of re3’s Community re3Grow Scheme, up to 1500 (40L) bags of compost will be offered free of charge to community groups and schools within Bracknell Forest, Reading and Wokingham.

The provision of free compost is designed to promote recycling and community activities within the re3 area and a third of the bags is available for allocation in each authority area.

re3 welcomes expressions of interest from your community group or school if you can demonstrate the following:

  • That you provide a local benefit. (For example, this could be in learning and education, enhancing the appearance of the local area, or in community food production).
  • That you will help to communicate the key principles that re3Grow compost demonstrates. (For instance, the benefit of recycling and using recycled products. This should take place both directly (via communication from your community group to your members and users) and indirectly (through provision of information to re3).

To register your interest for the scheme, please download and complete our Expression of Interest Form 2026

The applications will be reviewed at the end of the following months:

  • April
  • July
  • September

We will contact successful applicants directly in the first week of the following months. Groups will then have 2 months to collect the compost. After that time, the compost will be redistributed.

We will allocate compost subject to availability in your local authority area.
