The re3 Partnership will be participating in a significant project that will trial the collection of plastic bags and wrapping at the kerbside.
The trial service will commence on 18th September and involve over 4,000 households from Reading Borough.
Households in participating streets will receive blue bags which they can fill with various plastic items (including plastic bags, crisp packets and confectionary wrappers), tie and place in their usual recycling container.
The re3 project could ultimately involve up to 20,000 households across the re3 area, and is part of a larger Flexible Plastic Fund ‘FlexCollect’ project, which aims to inform government and industry on how this material should be added to existing household collection services.
